Cookie Policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies (such as local storage) can also remember preferences or help a site work. This page explains how Ride Xpress uses cookies and similar technologies on ridexpress.co.uk.

Essential cookies

These are needed for the website to function securely and as expected. They do not require consent under UK rules when used strictly for that purpose. Examples include:

  • Remembering basic site settings and layout behaviour
  • Security and abuse prevention where applicable
  • Storing your cookie preference choice so we do not ask every visit
  • Admin session cookies on restricted areas (for example QR admin login), when you use those tools

Analytics cookies

Ride Xpress may use Google Analytics cookies to understand website traffic and improve the user experience. Analytics scripts and related cookies are only activated after you accept optional analytics on the cookie banner. If you decline, or if Analytics is not configured, those cookies are not used for measuring visits.

Marketing and advertising cookies

We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies on this website. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent before activating them for UK visitors.

Third-party cookies

When Analytics is enabled after consent, Google may set cookies as part of Google Analytics. Those cookies are subject to Google's own policies as well as this notice. Embedded content or links to third-party sites (for example app stores or social profiles) may allow those services to process data under their own terms when you choose to use them.

Cookie consent preferences

On your first visit you can accept or decline optional analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage key rx_cookie_consent).

  • Accept analytics allows Google Analytics to load (when a measurement ID is configured).
  • Decline analytics keeps non-essential analytics off.

To change your choice later, clear site data for this website in your browser settings, then reload the page to see the banner again.

How to manage or reject cookies

You can control cookies by:

  • Using our on-site Accept / Decline analytics banner
  • Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser or device settings
  • Using browser privacy features or extensions that limit tracking

Blocking essential cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

How long cookies remain active

Essential preference storage lasts until you clear it or change your browser data. Google Analytics cookies, when consented to, typically last from the session up to about 24 months depending on Google's cookie and your Analytics settings. Exact lifetimes can change when Google updates its products.
